At Megan’s school they had a special day for the mothers so that the kids could give a little show for them.  I have attached a couple of videos from the day.

Food was good and we had a really nice time.  After stuffing our face we drove down the beach a bit so that Megan could play in the sand for a while.  Water here was filthy, it was actually black for the first couple of meters and then if faded out to a dark brown.

We had a nice day out though and I think it was better because it was not planed out beforehand. 

Yesterday Megan was really excited when she saw a rainbow in the sky and asked Nok who had painted it.  They ran round the corner to get a better look and a few photos.

Maybe she will even let me drive it sometimes.

Over the past few weeks we have found out that again Nok is pregnant, we have decided to move house to another soi (street) in the same village where we currently stay and we have just paid the deposit for a new car which we will get in 2-3 weeks.

It looks like Nok it waiting until she gets pregnant before we need to move house, just so that she doesn’t need to help with all the heavy lifting, I think I will need to find a way to get out of the heavy lifting too as I nearly killed myself the last time.  The hose we are going to rent is the same style and size as what we are currently staying in but it has the benefit of being away from the road that runs along the back of the house that we are currently staying in so we should be far enough away that we won’t here the guys with their motorbikes with their noisy exhausts.  Nok has also been complaining that the neighbours dogs are crapping in their yard near the wall that separates our house from theirs and with the hot sun in the afternoons and the rain in the evenings it stinks the place out.

4 years ago we bought a Honda Jazz, which was new model in Thailand and it had only been on sale for a few months.  This time we are again buying a Honda Jazz and again it is a new model that has just gone on sale. 

I need to think back to what else happened 4 years ago to see what other delights await me over the new few months.

Nok woke up and asked me what I was doing, I told her that I thought that someone was in the bathroom and she told me to go check.  I was still in my birthday suit and decided to go ahead and open the door.  The door was pushed back closed as soon as I tried to open it.  At this point I was sure that it was not Megan and I tried to open it again.  Again it was pushed back shut.  I needed to arm myself and had a quick look around the room, all I could find was Megan’s recorder and I thought that it was pretty much useless in this situation.  I was caught in two minds, I wanted to run downstairs and get a knife but didn’t want to leave Nok and Megan upstairs in case the guy came out of the toilet.  I decided that it was best to run downstairs anyway as hopefully the guy had taken the hint and climbed back out through the bathroom window.  Nok was calling the village security guards and I went back up to try the toilet door again but this time it was locked when the security guard appeared I took him upstairs to the bedroom and asked him to open the door, as it would be better for him to get the brunt of the intruder when the door was opened, if he was still there.  He was gone. 

The guard looked around the outside of the house while I checked and secured all of the inside of the house.  Nothing to be found anywhere so he had probably bolted as soon as he realised that I was not sleeping as he had thought we probably were. 

It took a few hours for me to settle back down and manage to get some sleep.  The next morning we found out that another house in the village that night got robbed and they had called the police, when the police heard that we also had an intruder they also came round to our place for a look.  They told Nok to go to the Police station to make a statement but that is the last I expect to here from the police on this.  No fingerprints were taken from the window where they came in.  I suspect that the person who did this was one of the labourers who stay at the house opposite our house, it is a house similar to ours and it has been getting renovated for a few months now.  Nok said that there has been quite a few houses in the village that have been robbed over the last couple of months so it would make sense that these guys are to blame.  The village have now kicked them out and told them that they are not allowed to stay overnight in the village so maybe things will get a bit safer in future. 

She said that on Tuesday morning her mum said that she "looked" pregnant and should take a test.  One home tester and a trip to the doctors double confirmed that her mum was right.  How is she able to do this?

We went to Bumrungrad hospital today for a scan and to get a better estimate on when the baby will be due.  They said 29th Jan so I will mark it in my diary and see how accurate the doctors and ultrasound machine is.

Looks like the blog could be useful in keeping a diary on the pregnancy, that is what I wanted to do 4 years ago with Megan but never quite managed to get there.  Anyway, there will be loads of updates as we go along.

Nok started off this morning taking Megan for her piano lesson and then they came back home and we headed of for Dream World, which is about 30miles north of where we stay.  I have been there with Nok before but that was about 5 or 6 years ago and I thought that it would have changed a little in that time.

Nothing had changed but it was good having Megan with us this time as we were seeing it through her eyes this time.  At first she was her normal hesitant self but after a while she started to calm down a bit and started to get into it a bit more and do more and more things.

We started of in the Giants House, this was a room that had everything in it oversized, Meg was a bit freaked out and ran through the place in a matter of seconds.  I was starting to think that it was going to be one of those days…

I did the main roller coaster that they have and it was really quite impressive, fast and loads of tight corners.  It was the first time that I have been on a roller coaster that your legs just dangle in the air so I was a bit worried that my feet would hit something while we were going round as I am a bit taller that your average Thai so I wasn’t sure if they had considered this when they were designing it.  In the end my feet were still attached to my legs but exiting the ride my legs were a bit wobbly from the effects of the ride.  In the video below I am in the last row.

We moved on to Snow Town and Megan got her first experience of snow and I think it will be memorable to her even if we were in a large freezer at -30C.  I had a go on the snow slide and nearly killed some young girl.  I was flying down the hill and at the bottom the guy bounced into me to try to slow me down before I bumped into the wall but all he did was put me into a spin and some girl had to jump over my legs as they spun round or she would have been flattened.

I had a go on a couple of the fun fair games and I managed to pop 5 balloons with 7 darts getting Megan a small stuffed monkey who we named Coco.

We had a 15min go on the boats and then onto the train that runs round the grounds of Dream World.  Finally was Megan’s biggest achievement, she went onto the racing cars by herself and wasn’t even fazed when the girls in front of her were screaming and had to exit the ride halfway through.  I think we really made a breakthrough here.
